The construction of the lagos rail terminal situated at Ebute Metta gave birth to the idea behind me digging deep to find out more about the historical town. You will be amazed what I dug out from my findings in the this little piece of article. Ebute Metta is known for the production and sale of local food and cloths. It is a very old part of Lagos, many of its houses were built during the colonial era using Brazilian architecture. Ebute Metta is part of the Awori Kingdom of Otto. Its capital is at Otto just before Iddo on the way to Lagos Island. Ebute Metta means “The three Harbours” in the Yoruba language. This was in reference to Iddo, Otto and Oyingbo. In the olden days the king, Oba Oloto of Otto, controlled these harbours and had his agents collecting taxes from ships bringing goods to Lagos by way of them. In 1867, there was

BRIEF HISTORY OF SAKI TOWN, FOOD BASKET OF OYO STATE Nigeria is made up of thirty-six states and each of the states has unique regions with the great historical antecedent. One of such region is Saki. Saki, a place in the heart of Oke-Ogun, is a town situated in the northern part of Oyo state, Nigeria. Saki is one of the most ancient towns in Yoruba land. Some historians had argued that Saki was founded by Ogun, the eldest son of Oduduwa and this explains why it was initially called Ile Ogun. The historical fact behind this was that Lamurudu, the father of Oduduwa and his followers migrated to Niger area Bussau from Egypt, this was as a result of religious crisis. Ogun was on a journey, when he discovered that Saki was a small village and it was just like a hunter’s camp. From Saki he went to Ibarapa, Lagos, Benin, Ife and again back to Saki.  Saki, the ruling town of Ogun was taken temporarily as a seat of government of Yoruba kingdom. Saki was the first settlement of Ogun and there h

Thus were born the Czech Republic and Slovakia after what's been named the “Velvet Divorce”. About the same time, another kind of separation occurred, of course, in Yugoslavia. This one led to a bloodshed. in 1965, Singapore split from Malaysia for a

This is Bishop David and Mrs Faith Oyedepo on their Wedding day. 30th of August, 1982. When Nathanial Bassey wooed his wife, her friends discouraged her, they said she shouldn't settle for that small boy that says he's a musician...she still held unto him.. Bishop Oyedepo met his wife in a motor park. She was a university student, while he was a polytechnic student (Remember the discrimination between this institutions). She could have snubbed him, but she responded.. His friends complained that he was carrying Christianity too zealously as if he was the only Christian, yet she was never discouraged. Just before he married her, he told her that God has sent him to liberate the world, (while he was still hopping between small jobs) and even went on to resign his job, his elder brother lambasted him, yet she still stuck to him. He told her they would build a 50,000 capacity tent and preach the gospel, fly private jets, she still believed her dream lover.. He was too &
